KHALSA DIWAN MALAYSIA a religious organization of Sikhs in Malaysia, was established on 27 December 1903 at Taiping, at a divan at the gurdwara of the Malaysia State Guides celebrating the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh. The Khalsa Diwan was assigned to promoting Sikh religion, managing Sikh temples or Gurudwaras in Malaysia, securing the educational advancement of the Sikh youth and to providing facilities for the teaching of Punjabi language.
To promote Sikhism and Sikh culture in accordance with the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the Sikh Rehat Maryada.
To promote and develop the learning and teaching of the Punjabi language.
To efficiently manage the Gurdwaras under the jurisdiction of the Diwan and to appoint priests well-versed in the Sikh scriptures.
To carry out any other activity that is beneficial to the Sikh community.
To make representations to the government on religious,educational,cultural and community matters.
To promote and support educational excellence amongst Sikhs.
To associate and cooperate with any other legally constituted bodies,the aims and objectives of which who are not inconsistent with the aims of the Diwan.
