Curriculum
We had two aims in mind when preparing the curriculum :
a) To prepare the pupils for an all-round language education, and
b) To prepare the pupils to sit for the Penilaian Menengah Rendah (P.M.R.) and Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (S.P.M.) Punjabi Language Papers
To give a proper all-round language education, we have to start with the elementary level graduating to higher levels. Thus we have 12 years of education as follows :
K1 to K2 : Kindergarten
P1 to P6 : Foundation Education
S1 to S4 : Progressive Education
K1 & K2 prepares the pupils to recognise the letters of the alphabet and the 'lag materahs' together with foundation of simple words. It is also geared to build up their vocabulary.
P1 to P6 prepares them for basics of Punjabi such as sentence formations, etc. The scope goes on to reading, writing, poetry, story-telling, simple grammar, proverbs and sayings as well as religious knowledge.
S1 to S4 graduates the pupils to higher standards of the language together with translations. Here the pupils are specifically prepared for P.M.R. and S.P.M. papers.
General
Each standard consists of 2 semesters and each semester has a course book and two work books. It is a comprehensive, structured and academic based education which gives the pupils all-round Punjabi Language Education.
